BOTH Cody Cooke and Matt Worthington should be fine to take their places in what will probably be an unchanged lineup for Torquay United this afternoon - when the Gulls play on the plastic pitch at Maidstone United in National South, writes Richard Hughes.

Torquay hope to have Worthington and Cooke for first big test

‘The statistics against Maidstone aren't great. In 14 games, Torquay have only beaten the Kent side twice. In recent years, they have become a bit of a bogey team so, after the 3-1 win against Enfield Town and starting the season with three points, this is a real test of the Gulls’ title credentials. Even at this early stage.

Cooke has a black eye and a swollen cheekbone after a clash of heads in the game against Enfield, but manager Paul Wotton reported on Thursday that he was OK to play, while midfield maestro Worthington worried the fans by feeling a hamstring at the end of the game, but that was just cramp.
