HERE are the player ratings of WMN Argyle reporter Chris Errington from the Pilgrims’ 2-0 defeat by Exeter City in the Devon derby at St James Park.

Conor Hazard 4 - Has to take a large part of the blame for Exeter's first goal. The ball did take an unexpected deflection before it reached the goalkeeper as he came to the edge of the penalty area but he still had to do much better than only half clear it towards Reece Cole, who then slotted into what was an empty net.

Brendan Wiredu 4 - It was following one of his long throw-ins during the first half that Argyle had one of their only two shots on target as Lorent Tolaj had a low strike saved by Joe Whitworth.

Alex Mitchell 4 - Was substituted at halftime, with Tom Cleverley saying after the game: “He's going through some real personal issues with his family. It was my call to play him this evening after not training as much with the team.”

Brendan Galloway 4 - The Zimbabwe international was selected ahead of Mathias Ross, who dropped to the bench, and played on the left of the Pilgrims’ defensive trio, with Alex Mitchell moving inside one position.
