IN THE Ty Hywel office block which neighbours the Senedd building in Cardiff Bay, an unlikely meeting took place. First Minister Eluned Morgan, also leader of Welsh Labour, met with Darren Millar, the Conservative group leader, to talk about potentially working together.

Labour and the Conservatives? That's not a pairing we often talk about, but such is Welsh politics in 2025 that anything seems to be on the table.
It has been 20 years since this particular political pairing met for formal budget negotiations.
In his letter asking the First Minister to meet with him, Mr Millar made it clear his party "fundamentally" disagrees with her government "on many issues and on many of your spending priorities". But what could he get in return?
