'Welsh budget could increase risks to services'

THE Welsh Government's draft budget could increase risks to Wales’ public services and finances, a think-tank has warned.

The Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) said the budget in its current form is unrealistic and could put strain on frontline services.
The draft budget is being rolled over from last year but departmental allocations have been uplifted in line with the Office for Budget Responsibility’s inflation forecast.
Currently, around £380m remains unallocated in the budget.
Finance Secretary Mark Drakeford has urged other political parties to help the government shape a “more ambitious’ final version.
