Wales ace Morrell forced to quit at 28

WALES international Joe Morrell has announced has retirement from professional football because of injury.

The midfielder, who is hanging up his boots at the age of just 28, made 37 appearances for Wales.
He represented his country at Euro 2020 and after that the World Cup in 2022.
Morrell has been a free agent since leaving Portsmouth at the end of the 2023-24 season, and hasn’t played a minute of competitive football since sustaining knee cartilage damage in January 2023.
Now he’s confirmed that he has been forced to retire.
In a statement, the player said: “This is not something that I ever thought that I would be writing at the age of 28, but I’ve officially retired from professional football.
