Masked burglar targets top restaurant and takes drink

A RENOWNED chef is “frustrated” after a burglar broke into his restaurant during the early hours.
The broken door and right, the masked intruder
The Cardiff premises was targeted despite having extensive CCTV and alarms at the property.
Uisce, a wine and oyster bar from the team behind Heaneys, was targeted by a masked intruder who forced entry to the premises in Pontcanna by smashing through the front door in the early hours of Sunday.
They were inside the restaurant for around three minutes, while alarms were sounding, before they made off with a few bottles of alcohol.
Tommy Heaney, the Irish-born chef behind some of the capital's best restaurants, said he and his partner, Nikki, had arrived home in Bridgend after leaving the restaurant when he was alerted to the break-in via his security app.
“We'd left the restaurant at about 1.30am and just as we got home we had the security alarm going off.
“We checked the CCTV and could see that the window was smashed so we obviously just rushed down.”
