MANY people may have noticed a quiet but poignant change at their local RNLI station, with services up and down the country flying their flags at half-mast.

Lifeboat stations across the UK and Ireland joined together on Thursday to honour Adrian Brask, a Norwegian rescue volunteer who lost his life during a mission last month. Adrian, a dedicated member of the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue (Redningsselskapet, or RS), was killed in the line of duty on September 26.
