Intoxicated pair beat up man in club's toilets 'for no reason'

Two men beat up a stranger in the toilets of a nightclub "for no reason", a court has heard.
 Ellis McGuinness David Lloyd
The victim was left bruised and bleeding after being set upon by Ellis McGuinness and David Lloyd, who between them have more than 100 previous offences on their records.
While on bail for the club assault, one of the defendants armed himself with a knife and confronted a family who were celebrating a baby's christening.
Sending the pair down, a judge at Swansea Crown Court told them they had carried out a "cowardly and mindless" attack while intoxicated.
Helen Randall, prosecuting, told the court that in the early hours of February 19 this year the complainant in the case went to the toilets in the Academy club in Aberystwyth.
She said while the man was in a cubicle he could hear people outside arguing, but could not tell what was happening.
The court heard that the next thing the man knew two men who were strangers to him - the defendants McGuinness and Lloyd - entered the cubicle and began punching him multiple times. The victim was left battered, bruised and bleeding, and bent over the toilet.
