Hospital doctor faces hearing into misconduct

A HOSPITAL doctor is facing allegations of sexual misconduct towards junior colleagues.
Dr Velmurugan Kuppuswamy was a locum consultant at a Pembrokeshire hospital at the time he is alleged to have inappropriately touched and made sexual comments towards two female doctors.
The case of Dr Kuppuswamy, who qualified from a medical university in India in 1996, will be decided by a medical practitioners' tribunal panel. They will consider allegations the doctor sexually harassed colleagues at Withybush Hospital, in Haverfordwest.
Dr Kuppuswamy is alleged to have sent inappropriate messages calling one of the doctors “a perfect sweetheart” and telling her: “I be there. If you dance with me...”
While attending a party, Dr Kuppuswamy allegedly hugged the doctor, touched her back, squeezed her waist and wrist, pulled her towards him, and smirked and winked at her.
