Five hospitalised in crash as teenage driver arrested

TWO people were airlifted to hospital following a collision which left a major valleys route closed for more than 20 hours.
A total of five people were taken to hospital after emergency services were called to the scene of the multi-vehicle crash on the A4119 bypass at Williamstown, near Tonypandy, Rhondda, shortly before 11.25am on Monday morning.
One person is in a life-threatening condition in hospital, while another has suffered life-changing injuries, according to police.
The road remained closed until Tuesday morning while collision investigation work was ongoing.
A force spokeswoman confirmed a 19-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He is currently being treated for injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening nor life-changing.
