Ex-Wales star Parkes announces retirement

Wales international Hadleigh Parkes has officially confirmed he has retired from professional rugby and started a totally different new job outside of the sport.The New Zealand-born centre won 29 caps for Wales after moving across the world to join the Scarlets in 2014, winning the Pro 14 title with the region in 2017.
He made his international debut later that year, winning the Grand Slam in 2019 before representing Warren Gatland’s side at the Rugby World Cup in Japan.
Parkes left Wales in 2020 to join Japanese side Panasonic Wild Knights, spending two seasons with the team before playing two more with Black Rams Tokyo.
Last year, he represented Manawatu Turbos in the National Provincial Championship and recently moved back to his native Auckland to rejoin amateur side Grammar TEC, who he last played for back in 2014.
