-
Quins completed a first home and away league double over Llandovery since the 2012-13 season as they defeated the Drovers 22-12 at Church Bank in Super Rygbi Cymru.Tries from hooker Lewis Morgan, centre Gabe McDonald and wing Callum Woolley, along with seven points from the boot of Wales U19 starlet Carwyn Leggatt-Jones, guided the Quins to a second West Wales derby win in the space of six days.
This latest triumph for the Quins followed on from their 27-26 success in the reverse fixture at Carmarthen Park and was their eighth triumph of the campaign from 12 matches.
Meanwhile for the Drovers, this pair of defeats halted a four-game winning run and, although they remain second in the table, Euros Evans' men have lost ground on runaway leaders Ebbw Vale.
Centre Rhodri Jones marked his 300th Llandovery appearance with a try, which was improved by Ioan Hughes. Replacement lock Griff Evans was the other home try scorer.
"Fair play to the boys, I thought they fully controlled the game from start to finish," said Quins director of rugby Steff Thomas.
