Dad refuses to demolish luxury cabins in ongoing planning row

A FATHER continues to refuse to demolish four luxury cabins with hot tubs, which were built without planning permission.

John Phillips is also continuing to advertise them for £195 a night.
The 42-year-old has faced a long-running planning battle since building the four chalets in his garden in Landimore on the Gower, in 2022, without correct planning permission.
His pods continue to attract positive reviews from visitors - but he has yet to comply with an enforcement order to pull them down. They overlook the Wales Coast Path and Loughor Estuary.
Swansea council turned down his retrospective planning application in July 2023 and sent him an enforcement notice four months later.
It said he had to stop renting and demolish them and tidy up the land within six months.
Mr Phillips then appealed the refusal decision and the enforcement notice but now a government-appointed planning inspector has dismissed both appeals.
The demolition deadline of October 31, 2025 followed a requirement for him to stop using the cabins by November 30, 2024. But Mr Phillips has continued to advertise the stays.
Swansea council said it was “considering its next steps” but said it could take legal action if enforcement action continues to be ignored.
