GLAMORGAN are set for a boost with the news that Australia Test star Marnus Labuschagne will make a brief return later this month to replace Colin Ingram for two Championship matches.
-
Labuschagne, who has played 57 Tests, returns to play in a sixth season for the Welsh county and will face Northamptonshire and Middlesex.
‘The 30-year-old batter is likely to feature for the Baggy Greens as they defend the World Test Championship title against South Africa at Lord’s, starting on 11 June.
International calls and paternity duties have limited his availability for the Welsh side, but Glamorgan director of cricket, Mark Wallace, has confirmed Labuschagne will take Ingram’s spot in the team for both fixtures.
“It's great to have Marnus returning to the club again,’ said Wallace.
“He's very much part of the furniture here and we're looking forward to welcoming him back to Wales for a couple of games.
“Although it's only for a short period, it will allow Colin to have a break and recharge before the [T20] Blast.”
