80 officers in Southport stabbing investigation

ATEAM of more than 80 police officers was drafted in to investigate the Southport stabbings, the inquiry into the attack has heard.

Axel Rudakubana, 18, killed Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and attempted to murder 10 others, after he launched his knife attack at the Taylor Swift dance class in the Merseyside town last July.

Detective Chief Inspector Jason Pye told an inquiry into the attack that a dedicated team of 80 officers was assigned to work for him, 37 of them assigned to supporting families of those affected.
