AT just 14 years old, Mason Turner is already making waves on the national karting circuit, balancing school, martial arts, and motorsport with a maturity far beyond his years.

But don't let the age fool you - Mason's weekends aren't spent lounging about with a games console. Instead, he's navigating hairpin bends at breakneck speeds, racking up podiums, and carving a name for himself in the high-octane world of competitive karting.

From the moment he first gripped a steering wheel, Mason was hooked. What began as a local outing at Haynes karting track turned into a full-blown pursuit of motorsport excellence. And now, with multiple race and championship wins under his belt and a growing list of sponsors, Mason is not just racing he's racing with purpose.

Mason's story starts in Yeovil, where he lives and attends The Gryphon School. He manages to balance schoolwork with a demanding racing schedule by studying in the evenings, en route to events, and during weekends when he isn't on the track.

"I also attend martial arts lessons and volunteer at the younger classes by teaching them their martial arts," he says. "I fit in sim racing when I can, and I've been following a fitness plan tailored for me by Bath University to help with racing."

The seed of his passion was planted during F1 viewing sessions with his grandad, particularly inspired by Max Verstappen's assertive style. "As soon as he puts his helmet on, he is at one with the car. I aspire to be like him," Mason explains.

Covid might have paused his early karting dreams, but once restrictions lifted, Mason was straight back on the track - this time at TeamSport Bristol, where he joined a race academy session. The rest, as they say, is history.
