A FATHER has said that his daughter “wouldn't be here” if she had been in her mobile home at the time it was set on fire.

The incident, at a log-style cabin mobile home on Vagg Lane, in Chilthorne Domer, near Yeovil, was reported to the fire service shortly after 6am on Tuesday, October 28.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue were called by a passerby and sent four fire engines to the scene. Avon and Somerset Police were called by the fire service around an hour later.
No one was inside the property at the time of the fire, which was described by police as “suspected arson”. Enquiries are ongoing by police to establish the circumstances surrounding the inferno.
Matty Griffin's daughter, Lyla, was supposed to have moved into the cabin around four weeks ago. However, because of a job outside the region, the moving in was delayed. The father said that if she had been inside the property at the time she “wouldn't be here”.
