Fifth nation status would slightly vex the vexillologists

I'VE been away for a little while and consciously avoiding the news, so I’m not sure where we are with the issue of fifth nation status for Cornwall.

- Phil Wisdom

I gather Sir Keir Starmer has said, in his usual elliptical fashion, that he’s against it but (to put it politely) Sir Keir Starmer's said a lot of things on which he’s later found it expedient to change his mind, on topics including (but not limited to) welfare reform, immigration policy and supporting Jeremy Corbyn, the folk devil blamed by party apparatchiks for the 2019 election catastrophe in which Labour secured only 1.5% less of the vote than in its 2024 landslide victory (please, make it make sense).

I don’t expect Sir Keir to revise his opinion about Cornwall unless or until Nigel Farage expresses a contrary view but it matters little, since the insurmountable objections aren't political but practical.
