Daughter to reopen pub in dad's memory

A WOMAN is reopening a pub in memory of her beloved father who died of cancer last year.

Jordan Dunn, who lost her father Jim Doyle last December, will be reopening The Lamb Inn in North Petherton on Thursday.

Jim ran the pub for 17 years with his wife Nicky.

He was first diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2021, but sadly further tests discovered the cancer had spread to his lymph nodes and was terminal.

His family rallied around him and focused on making memories - including Jordan's wedding to husband Kev - before his death.

Jordan, 37, said: “It wasn’t until his funeral that I learned he actually helped people - he wasn’t just serving drinks. Dad would make that extra effort to talk to them, whether it be over a beer or a soft drink, if they were in a bad place.

“That was really touching to learn that it wasn’t just this character behind the bar. He meant a lot to people”

Jordan and Kev decided to take on the pub earlier this year - and will be honouring Jim in a very unique way.
