VERSATILE CHICKEN IS THE STAR IN THESE THREE DISHES AS CHRIS MAKES THE CASE FOR BAKED POTATO DAY

'M a great believer in eating seasonal food. So, I am happy to announce that November 1 is baked potato day, marking the start of the official baked potato season.

I am, of course, embarking on this enterprise in a small way with an entirely inconsequential, arbitrary choice of date. But I believe there is scope for developing this celebration which will stand alone from national potato day in August - and hands up who has ever noticed that.

I may be starting modestly but with the right amount of marketing and promotion, baked potato day could soon become firmly branded into the calendar, promising buoyant sales of the mugs, aprons and all the other usual merchandise that will become available.
