Pistols shot down by leading Spitfires

FOLLOWING a brief break due to the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, Taunton Baseball Club welcomed a return to South West & Wales Baseball League action on Sunday.

The Pistols hosted Exeter Spitfires at Taunton Green, with Exeter sweeping the double-header 26-21 and 35-5, while the Muskets’ fixture away to New Forest Thunder was forfeited by the hosts.
The forfeit leaves Muskets joint-third in the AA Division, with a 3-3 record so far.
At Taunton Green, the Pistols were reigniting their friendly, competitive rivalry dating back to the Muskets’ inaugural season in 2014 and last played in 2019. Both sides featured a lot of fresh faces, although there were a handful of experienced heads which played in that last meeting six years ago.
