Bird in the points after race of change

FORMER Millfield pupil Sam Bird enjoyed one of his best results of the season after being elevated to seventh at the Formula E Jakarta E Prix.

Bird qualified just out of the top ten and needed to produce a competitive drive in order to finish in the points on Sunday.

It proved to be a race of flux in the midfield as Bird was as high as sixth at one stage, before falling as low as 16th. However he was able to sidle his way through the order and back into the top ten, before a couple of penalties to other drivers moved him up to seventh.
