Celebrations as market marks its 27th anniversary

CULLOMPTON'S historic high street was a hub of celebration as residents and traders gathered to mark the 27th birthday of its farmers' market.
On a sun-drenched day, Devon county councillor James Buczkowski officially opened the event with a speech recognising the market's long-standing contribution to the community.
He praised the market team for its commitment to bringing quality Culm Valley produce to locals and visitors, and thanked the volunteers for their hard work and enthusiasm.
The team is currently looking at ways to enhance the market's offering to ensure its future is secure.
"Things are tough for most markets, but we want to keep going," said Sarah Jones from the farmers' market team.
