SUPER SOSIE ON SONG FOR FABRE

SOSIE can raise a glass to "absent friends" to embellish Andre Fabre's already second-to-none record in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (3.20) at Paris Longchamp today.

The cast list for the race, habitually billed as Europe's middle-distance championship decider, is missing a few A-listers.

City Of Troy is being trained for the Breeders' Cup Classic, Economics is staying at a mile and a quarter for Ascot's Champion Stakes, while Goliath, Calandagan and Rebel's Romance are all geldings so can't run.

But Fabre will not be wringing his hands over the Arc no-shows - he's got a prime candidate for a record ninth victory in Sosie.
