Online firms join UK crime summit

META, Tik Tok and X will this week attend a landmark summit as the government ramps up plans to stop gangs luring people across the Channel.

Representatives from the three social media giants will all be at the Organised Immigration Crime Summit in London, along with delegates from up to 40 countries.

It comes as the government today announces a crackdown on illegal working as part of its mission to "protect the integrity of our borders".

We have highlighted how smuggling gangs use online platforms to advertise their illegal small boat crossings.
