EAGLES HAVE LANDED IT Palace boss Oliver Glasner with Cup

- BY RYAN TAYLOR

OLIVER GLASNER has already etched his name into Crystal Palace folklore.

But, following a summer of frustration at Selhurst Park, the elation of May’s historic FA Cup triumph has swiftly subsided.

So much so, the Austrian boarded an Elizabeth Line train on London's Underground on Thursday and went unnoticed.

When asked if he had grasped the impact of his side's achievements on the local community, Glasner said: “Yesterday we had the Premier League managers’ meeting at Stockley Park.

“I went on the Tube and there was no selfie, no autograph, so, for me, that was a positive.

“Everybody looks into their phone, nobody looks at who is next to them.”

Today's Community Shield clash with Liverpool is Palace's third trip across the capital to Wembley in just five months.
