Hazard warning as batteries thrown into bins spark fires

A FIRE chief is warning of the dangers of throwing old batteries into the recycling after five bin lorries caught fire.
The blazes were all in Wakefield last year - and there were 46 further fires all at one rubbish sorting site due to lithium-ion batteries not being disposed of correctly.
