Ayushman Arogya Mandirs to lead Delhi's healthcare revolution

The newly established BJP-led Delhi Government is gearing up to revamp the city's healthcare system with an ambitious 100-day action plan. As part of this initiative, the health department is set to launch 70 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs within the next 15 to 20 days. These new healthcare centres will differ from the existing Mohalla Clinics in both structure and mode of operation.

The government's goal is to bring accessible, neighbourhood-level healthcare closer to the citizens of Delhi.

According to a source familiar with the matter, the first phase will ensure that each Assembly constituency houses at least one Ayushman Arogya Mandir. The broader vision includes establishing 1,139 such centres across the capital within the next 12 months. These facilities are intended to provide essential services like primary healthcare, medical consultations, and diagnostic tests within local communities, ultimately easing the burden on Delhi's larger hospitals.

Pankaj Singh, Delhi's Health Minister, reiterated the government's commitment to constructing 1,139 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs for the city's residents.
