The Projector exits Cineleisure, returns to Golden Mile Tower

Indie cinema The Projector has confirmed it is leaving Cineleisure and will hold its final screenings there on Aug 3.
In a press statement sent on Aug 1, a spokesman for The Projector says it will resume screenings at its original space at Golden Mile Tower from Aug 6.
The decision to return to its home base came after negotiations for the en-bloc sale of Golden Mile Tower in Beach Road concluded without a deal, says the spokesman.
Ms Karen Tan, co-founder of The Projector, says that with the en-bloc no longer moving forward, "we have the chance to return home".
"This isn't just a move, it's a return to our roots," she adds.
The cinema began life at Golden Mile Tower in 2014 and has since become a mainstay in Singapore's cultural scene through its focus on screening independent films and hosting an eclectic mix of events.
