The English Premier League has become increasingly London-centric in recent years.

- John Brewin

From Brentford out west to West Ham in the east, the capital city has become the destination for global ground-hopping fans.

During that time, the rivalry between the city's northern giants has become one of the highlights of the season.

Where, say, Manchester United versus Liverpool can often be an attritional grind — as is often the case when Everton play the Reds, and United's recent rivalry with Manchester City has too often been an unfair fight - Arsenal against Tottenham Hotspur has gained a reputation for excitement.

With respect to Chelsea, who have their own, deep-seated rivalry with Tottenham, this is the north London clubs' biggest match of the season. And, in recent times, both sides have been on similar planes.

Both were members of the cartel who attempted to join the breakaway European Super League in 2021.
