Singapore to contribute $130,800 to support flood victims in Nepal

Singapore will contribute US$100,000 (S$130,800) to support flood victims in Nepal.

The seed money will be given to the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) as part of its public fund-raising efforts.

In a statement on Oct 10, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “The contribution will support humanitarian relief efforts and the immediate needs of affected communities in Nepal.”

SRC said on Oct 10 that it would pledge an initial $50,000 to help the Nepal Red Cross Society's relief operations, which include distribution, search and rescue, and providing shelter for those affected.
