G1 winner double-booked in two cities has jockey praying for Sydney over Melbourne

Schiller Sweating on the Way Devil Night Will Go

Sydney - Tyler Schiller's hopes of snaring his first Group 1 win of the new season hinge on where Team Hawkes opt to launch the carnival campaign of Blue Diamond Stakes winner Devil Night.

The colt is an acceptor for the A$250,000 (S$208,000) Group 3 San Domenico Stakes (1,100m) at Rosehill on Aug 30 (1.50am Singapore time), as well as the A$200,000 Group 3 McNeil Stakes (1,200m) at Caulfield (12.55pm Singapore time) on the same day, with the trainers having until Aug 28 to make a call.

If Devil Night does remain in Sydney, Schiller will have his first ride on the Group 1 performer.

He continues his comeback from a spinal fracture suffered in a race-day incident at Canterbury in May, when he was dislodged shortly after leaving the mounting yard.

Blake Shinn rides, if the Melbourne path is picked for the Yulong-owned Extreme Choice colt.
