Michigan governor calls on PM Wong during four-day visit

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer met Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on Sept 1, and explored opportunities in technology and advanced manufacturing during a four-day visit to Singapore.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), in a statement on Sept 1, said that during the meeting with the US governor, PM Wong underscored the longstanding and mutually beneficial partnership between Singapore and the US at both the federal and state levels.
He also welcomed Michigan's interest in strengthening economic cooperation with Singapore, it added.
PM Wong and the governor also discussed US trade policies, people-to-people ties, and ways that Singapore and Michigan can deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, MFA added.
