Asian stock markets rebounded strongly on April 10 as investors picked up battered stocks after US President Donald Trump announced a 90-day pause on global tariffs announced last week for every country except China.

TOKYO - Asian stock markets rebounded strongly on April 10 as investors picked up battered stocks after US President Donald Trump announced a 90-day pause on global tariffs announced last week for every country except China.
Singapore's Straits Times Index surged 8.2 per cent as soon as trading opened. It closed 5.4 per cent higher at 3,577.83.
Japan's Nikkei index soared 9.1 per cent, Taiwan's Taiex jumped 9.3 per cent, South Korea's Kospi gained 6.6 per cent, while Australia's ASX 200 rose 4.5 per cent.
