Both the public and charity organisations have a part to play to ensure fund-raising drives achieve their objectives of getting donations and building awareness for the organisations (Ensure that all-cash donations find their way to charity, Dec 24).
Through my volunteer experience of selling teddy bears to raise funds for a charity organisation, I realised that it did not matter whether the people whom I approached parted with their money or not after my "sales" pitch.
It was just satisfying to me and beneficial to the organisation that they gave me a few minutes of their time to get to know about the organisation.
