Former Macau galloper Arigato notched his second win in Malaysia when he led all the way in the RM30,000 (S$9,000) Enrich Stakes A race over 1,300m in Ipoh on Aug 23.

IPOH -

It was on the Ipoh track on Nov 3, 2024, when Arigato made his debut in Malaysia after winning his last race in Macau on March 30, 2024. The son of Charm Spirit finished fourth to Shang Chi in the Singapore Pools Trophy (1,300m).

Trained by Lim Shung You, the nine-time winner in Macau went on to win at his next start at Sungai Besi, but has struggled with his form all year, with a fourth as his best result in his subsequent eight runs.

The seven-year-old New Zealand-bred was also back in Ipoh for the Group 1 Perak Gold Vase (1,100m) on July 13, but he managed only eighth to the Jason Ong-trained Filial Dragon.

His return to the Perak Turf Club on Aug 23, following his last-start fifth to Platinum Emperor at Sungai Besi in a Supreme A race (1,600m) on Aug 3, proved to be fruitful.

Andre da Silva, who was riding Arigato for the first time, took the Neo Stable-owned galloper straight to the front, and had him well ahead in the field.
