Seeking immediate corrective action, MP Ritabrata Banerjee has urged the ministry of textiles to address three critical areas:
Trinamul Congress Rajya Sabha MP Ritabrata Banerjee has written to Union textiles minister Giriraj Singh, warning that the raw jute sector is sliding into a serious economic and social crisis, with the worst impact being felt in Bengal's jute-growing and jute-mill regions.
Bengal once had a thriving jute industry, with the state producing one of the finest jute qualities.
