Further damage to Bowbazar buildings not because ofus, say Kolkata Metro authorities

Two days after earthen roof tiles of an old dilapidated building came crashing down, allegedly injuring a resident at Bowbazar, the Kolkata Metro Railway authorities denied any responsibility for further damage to the structure.

A59-year-old person, named Pappu Singh, was allegedly injured after the earthen roof tiles at the ground floor of the G+2 building at 107, BB Ganguly Street fell off. According to local residents, the incident occurred around 1.30p.m. while Singh was entering the bathroom and chunks from the roof fell on him, injuring his head, neck and waist. He was rushed to Kolkata Medical College and Hospital and discharged after primary treatment.
Officials of the Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Limited and the city police visited the spot.
