SC Refuses to Stay Adani's Mumbai Dharavi Slum Redevelopment Project
The Statesman Siliguri
|March 08, 2025
A Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar rejected a plea on Friday (7 March), which had sought a stay on the Dharavi Slum Redevelopment Project, which is being executed by the Adani Group.
The petition for a stay was filed by the Dubai-based Seclink Technology Corporation (STC), which had challenged the Maharashtra government's decision to cancel its 2019 bid and award the project to Adani through a fresh tender process in 2022.
The Supreme Court refused to impose a status quo on the project, emphasizing that construction had already commenced, but directed the Adani Group to manage all financial transactions through an escrow account and maintain proper documentation.
