Piyush Goyal hails India-UK FTA, says it's far better than deals secured during Congress regime

Highlighting how the just concluded India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) would help empowering Indian small businesses, farmers and artisans, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal on Saturday said India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi get into agreements with developed nations unlike Congress-led government that would generally sign treaties only with not so important countries.

Addressing a press conference here at the BJP headquarters, the Union Minister lauded the treaty signed between India and the UK in the presence of their prime ministers, and said it would be beneficial for both the nations.

"The Free Trade Agreement between the two nations (FTA) will benefit different stakeholders of both the countries. In India it would guarantee consumers' access to high-quality products at competitive prices while expanding the global reach of Indian goods and services," the minister said.
