Chidambaram says Congress to resist, fight back on National Herald issue
The Congress on Monday reiterated that the Enforcement Directorate was carrying out a "vendetta" against its leaders which the party will resist and fight back.
The Enforcement Directorate had filed a chargesheet before a special court in Delhi in the National Herald case accusing Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and others of laundering Rs 988 crore.
"The assault on the integrity and reputation of Smt Sonia Gandhi and Shri Rahul Gandhi is a blatant abuse of power. On the fact of this case, it is clear that the ED, at the behest of its political masters, is carrying on a vendetta against the leaders of the principal opposition party, the Congress," former finance minister P Chidambaram said defending his party's decision to fight back against the government over the National Herald case.
