Stock markets ends gaining streak, Nifty below 24,000

Indian stock markets on Monday ended two-day gaining streak with the Nifty ending near the day's low.

Nifty was at intraday low of 23,924.55. Markets witness selling pressure led by auto, IT, oil & gas, and banking stocks.

At close, the Sensex was down 372.10 points or 0.48 per cent at 76,728.37, and the Nifty was down 109.75 points or 0.46 per cent at 23,946.25.

The overall market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms dropped below Rs 474 lakh crore from Rs 475 lakh crore in the previous session.
