Rohit Sharma dismisses ODI retirement speculations after Champions Trophy win

Team India skipper hits all speculations for a six after winning yet another ICC trophy in Dubai

Mid-rumours swirling all through the ICC Champions Trophy around Rohit Sharma's future in 50-over cricket, the India skipper on Sunday put an end to all speculations, confirming that he isn't done with the format any time soon.

"I'm not going to retire from this format, just to make sure no more rumours are going to spread," he said to much laughter during the post-match presser after India defeated New Zealand to win the Champions Trophy in Dubai. Rohit was adjudged the Player of the Match in the final, thanks to his 76 off 83 balls that drove India towards the four-wicket triumph. The Men in Blue restricted New Zealand to 251/7 before a collective batting effort led by Rohit, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul, secured their win. The 37-year-old, who had already retired from T20Is last year following India's win in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, said there was "no future plan" and that "what is happening will keep happening" in ODI cricket, when asked about where he stood in his career after winning back-to-back ICC titles.
