Sword-wielding miscreants chase victim who manages to escape

The serene locality of Jagannath Pada, also known as Agharia Pada, was thrust into turmoil last night after a dramatic and violent incident.

A young man, later identified as Sonu Pattanaik from Rameswar Nagar, was chased through the streets by a group of seven to eight masked assailants wielding swords.

The chase began near Mahadev Mandir Chowk and spanned key areas including the DEO office, Arundhati Jewellery, and Pataneswari Temple, before culminating at the Jagannath Temple.
