Odisha to Achieve 7.2 Percent Growth Rate in 2024-25

Odisha continues to outpace the national growth rate, recording an impressive 7.2% economic growth in 2024-25, compared to India's 6.4% growth rate, according to the Economic Survey tabled on Saturday.
The agriculture and allied sector grew at 3.3%, contributing 19% to the Gross State Value Added (GSVA). Over the last five years, agriculture has expanded at an average of 7%, reflecting steady progress.
Foodgrain production reached a record 143 lakh metric tonnes (MT) in 2023-24, with Odisha maintaining its position as the fifth-largest rice producer in the country.
The industry sector is expected to grow at 6.2% in 2024-25, contributing 43.9% to GSVA. Between June 2024 and January 2025, the state government approved 133 new investments worth over ₹2.4 lakh crore, creating potential employment for 1.8 lakh people.
