NALCO gears up for robust growth in Aluminium demand

With aluminium demand projected to grow by 10-12% annually on the back of massive investments in infrastructure, power and transport, Navratna CPSU, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has drawn a roadmap to diversify its product portfolio and scale up its operations.
Addressing media persons on Tuesday, NALCO's Chairman-cum-Managing Director Brijendra Pratap Singh replied to a wide range of questions including the tariff hike by the US.
The tariff hike by the US will not have any impact on NALCO, he said while adding that there is a huge untapped market in the UK which can be explored.
The CMD said the company is working on short, medium and long-term strategies to meet the surge in demand as well as the futuristic requirement of special grade aluminium.
"In the short term, our focus is on increasing production and reducing costs. In Q1 of FY 2025-26, we achieved a 77% rise in net profit while operating at rated capacity," he noted.
