The Statesman Bhubaneswar
|December 11, 2025
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has actively engaged in social work, particularly focused on tribal education and the development of essential infrastructure in tribal regions.
-
He has been a consistent advocate for improving the living standards of backward tribes, reflecting a deep-rooted commitment to social welfare. He spoke to The Statesman in an exclusive interaction:» Chhattisgarh is celebrating its Silver Jubilee Year. Could you outline how this milestone is being marked and what significance it holds?
The Silver Jubilee marks 25 years since the state’s formation on 1 November 2000. The celebrations are being held in two phases, the first from 15 August to 31 October 2025, and the second from 1 November 2025 to 6 February 2026. Weekly activities such as exhibitions, public outreach campaigns, cultural performance and literacy seminars in schools and colleges are being organised to showcase progress and encourage public involvement.
The aim is not only to commemorate the journey but also to inspire collective ownership of the next 25 years. Every section of society, including farmers, women, youth, tribals, and entrepreneurs, is being brought into discussions on the state’s future. The celebrations blend pride with planning. Chhattisgarh Rajyotsav 2025 marked the state's Rajat Jayanti with a five day long event inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Raipur.
» What is the “Viksit Chhattisgarh” vision and how is it being realised?
“Viksit Chhattisgarh is aligned with the national vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047 and provides a clear roadmap for the state's long-term development. The Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision @2047 document prioritises economic growth, modernisation of agriculture, employment generation, industrial diversification, digital governance, and equitable growth across regions and communities.
The vision sets measurable goals for agricultural reform, precision farming, sustainable industrialisation, digital inclusion, and tourism development. All departments have been instructed to prepare district-level action plans so that growth is driven from the grassroots.
