CM Reviews Arrangements For Return Car Festival

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday conducted a high-level review of security arrangements in Puri, issuing firm instructions for the smooth execution of the remaining rituals of the Rath Yatra—Bahuda Yatra, Suna Besha, and Niladri Bije.

Amid concerns over the mismanagement and stampede-like situations witnessed during the main Rath Yatra days on June 27 and 28, the Chief Minister emphasized accurate crowd estimation and strict crowd control for the upcoming rituals. "With favourable weather conditions, a significantly large number of devotees are expected, particularly for Suna Besha. We must be prepared to manage the crowd and ensure public safety at all times," he stated.

In a separate meeting with Jagannath temple servitors, CM Majhi was apprised of their concerns—most notably the demand for reduced administrative interference in conducting the rituals and in the pulling of the chariots.
