CM Launches Enhanced Pension for Elderly & Disabled Persons

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday launched the enhanced allowance for citizens in the age group of 80 years and above and those with more than eighty percent disability noting that a society that respects the elderly and disabled is an ideal society.
Introducing the scheme at a function in Dharanidhar University, Keonjhar, the Chief Minister said the allowance for the above category of people has been enhanced from Rs 1200 to Rs 3500 per month. This will benefit 4,17,496 people in the state.
The society should be sensitive towards senior citizens as they are temples of faith and trust. Smiles on the faces of senior citizens are blessings, said the CM.
