Arunachal Pushes for Global Market Access for GI-Tagged Crops

In a move to boost farmers' incomes and promote global trade, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu emphasised the need to expand agri-export opportunities for Geographical Indication (GI) tagged crops from Arunachal Pradesh to South-East Asian countries.
Speaking at an International Conclave cum Buyer-Seller Meet organised by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) in Tawang, Khandu underscored the importance of capacity building and awareness among farmers to ensure they receive fair prices in both domestic and international markets.
Held at the Kalawangpo Convention Hall, the conclave was a joint initiative by APEDA and the Arunachal Pradesh government, aimed at promoting agricultural and processed food exports from the state and the larger North Eastern Region (NER).
